Mulligans Fore MS came to fruition in 2009 as a fundraising effort after Melinda Smith was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Her first onset of symptoms began the summer of 2006, but it took several years for her to get the definitive diagnosis. Melinda and her dear friend Heather Hauk – who is a PGA professional – made a conscious decision to use Melinda’s story to both increase public awareness of the neurological disease and offer financial support for the much-needed research in the field of neurology. A host of friends, family and community have also been supportive in making this biennial fundraiser a success. Read more to hear Melinda’s story.
To support – through advocacy, funding, education and awareness – both the ongoing research efforts of Project RESTORE and the individuals who are living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Transverse Myelitis (TM).
