Bring your school, college or university to The Hepworth Wakefield and lead your group around our exhibitions and garden.
Our exciting exhibitions offer opportunities for learning and discovery and we encourage everyone to explore, draw, look, think, discuss and create during their visit.
We have a range of teacher-led resources you can hire to support your visit and make the most of your time in the gallery and garden.
Borrow our Exploring Art Kits to creatively explore the artworks. Discover what you can see, hear and smell with your own Garden Sketchbooks. Go on a journey through the gallery with Reg, our Sensory Snake.
You can also book our class-size lockers and indoor picnic area for free as part of your visit.
BOOK YOUR TEACHER-LED VISIT
Drawing at The Hepworth
You are welcome to bring your own sketchbooks, clipboards and paper to use while exploring the galleries (A3 or smaller).
To protect the artworks we don’t allow wet materials or sharp tools in the galleries such as pens, paints, charcoal, playdough, oil pastels, scissors.
Pre-visits
For teachers who would like to do a pre-visit before your planned trip, we offer a complimentary ticket to the gallery. Please contact learning@hepworthwakefield.org to arrange.

Exploring Art Kits, KS1 - KS4
£10 to hire a set for 33 students
Borrow our Exploring Art Kits and help students discover artworks, discuss ideas and draw creatively in the galleries.
Kits include A5 clipboards, drawing materials, looking tools and handling objects for all students, plus activity cards for teachers to use.

Garden Sketchbooks, KS1 & KS2
50p per sketchbook
Using our Garden Sketchbooks, pupils can make discoveries about what they can see, hear and smell in The Hepworth Wakefield Garden, including minibeasts, plants and the shapes and patterns they can find when they look closely!

Sensory Snake, EYFS
Free to hire
Reg, our sensory snake, is a 7 metre long snake that can be used to guide your group on a journey through the galleries.
Made from lots of different textures Reg support’s children to explore their sense of touch with shapes and objects in his tummy to feel. You will also receive activity ideas about how to use Reg during your visit.
